ATV Broadcasting

Al Ghad Television is the first independent broadcast channel in Jordan. Based in the heart of bustling Amman, ATV staff are busy rehearsing and familiarizing themselves with their new TV Broadcast station in preparation for going on air.

In a joint project to supply the full technical infrastructure for the station, dB Broadcast Ltd and Electronic Media Systems Ltd called upon Klicktv to supply a data network, a 1000 point structured cabling installation and a 30 channel internal TV distribution system.

The requirements for the data network went a lot further than supporting the usual corporate data infrastructure such as email, Internet access and other office applications found in any modern business. The network was also required to support IP telephony and provide the fabric for interconnecting the specialist TV broadcast systems.

Klicktv supplied a fully redundant network solution based around Cisco equipment which fulfilled the advanced broadcast system requirements with journalists and programme editors able to perform such tasks as viewing and editing streamed programme material at their desktops.

The RF distribution system consists of a 30 channel Wisi Professional head end with more than 200 hundred cabled outlets. Channel sources are from an array of satellite antennae, terrestrial channels from Jordan and neighbouring countries and studio outputs.
