HDTV distribution options
Klicktv offers a comprehensive range of HDTV distribution systems based on different technologies to meet most requirements. Systems are supplied either fully installed or for third party or customer installation with the option for installation support from Klicktv.
The key issue with HDTV distribution is whether the source to be distributed is HDCP compliant. If it is, an HDCP compliant distribution system is required to avoid serious degradation of picture quality. This is the case for example with the HDMI output of a Blu Ray player or Sky HD receiver.
If the source is not HDCP protected, distribution is more straight forward. Sources can either be distributed as digital DVI or HDMI signals or the corresponding HD component (analogue) outputs, found on a lot of source equipment, can be used for effective HD distribution.
What is HDCP? HDCP stands for High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection and is a form of digital copy protection designed to prevent copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across DVI and HDMI interfaces |
